Beacon Stuttering & Speech Center

Beacon Stuttering & Speech Center is a speech-language private practice in the heart of Brookline. Located at St. Mary’s T stop on Beacon Street, Beacon Stuttering & Speech Center specializes in the treatment and assessment of individuals with stutters. We offer services for speech and language, specializing in stuttering, fluency disorders, and bilingualism.

Our office is a warm and comfortable learning environment. We are accessible to public transportation, shops, Red Sox games, and restaurants. Metered parking is also available.

Our Staff

Evelyn Rodriguez, M.S. CCC-SLP

Evelyn Rodriguez, M.S. CCC-SLP is the owner and director of Beacon Stuttering & Speech Center. She is a Massachusetts State licensed and nationally certified Speech-Language Pathologist. Prior to starting her practice, Ms. Rodriguez worked in various settings, including private and public schools, hospitals, early intervention and universities. She has been working in the private sector since 1996.

Ms. Rodriguez received her Master’s degree of Science from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions in 1995. She maintains certification in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language hearing Association and is licensed in Massachusetts.

Ms. Rodriguez is the recipient of four Awards of Continuing Education by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, a testament to her dedication to learning the newest research and therapies for stuttering. Ms. Rodriguez is an active member of ASHA’s Special Interest Group for Fluency and Fluency Disorders. Her therapy includes methods from a variety of evidence-based practices, including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Avoidance Reduction Therapy for Stuttering (ARTS), and the Palin Practical Intervention for Early Childhood Stammering (PCI) Approach.

Ms. Rodriguez has had extensive experience assessing and treating pediatric and adult clients with autism, phonological disorders and receptive/expressive language impairments.

Ms. Rodriguez has deep literacy experience and uses the Orton-Gillingham Reading Program, Reading with TLC, the Telian-Cas Reading Program, Visualizing and Verbalizing Language Comprehension and Thinking Program, Accent Reduction and Socially Thinking. She is a professional member of the International Dyslexia Association. Ms. Rodriguez is fluent in Spanish and treats in English, Spanish, or both.
